Top 10 Super Bowl Prop Bets
As the resident gambler on the staff, I felt obliged to let the SpreeGoogs universe know my picks for this weekend. There are tons of ridiculous prop bets available, but also some interesting statistical props that caught my attention. Here’s what I’ll have my money on when the Giants line up against the Pats this weekend.
#1. How many times will Giselle Bundchen be shown on TV during the game?
Over 1/2. You really think they won’t show her once? They know their audience, come on.
#2. What color will Madonna’s hair be when she begins the Super Bowl Halftime show?
Blonde -400 She’s not gonna go and change up her hair color the week before the superbowl. This isn’t the 80s. Bad odds, but easy money.
Tails -105. TAILS NEVER FAILS BABY!
#4. Alternative Point Spread
NYG +4½ (-170) The Pats always win or lose their superbowls by a Field Goal, so I’m taking the giants as a slightly bigger dog. It makes sense – if they lose by a Field Goal, or if NYG goes up by 3 and then Brady scores a TD to win, you’re covered.
#5. Will the Patriots score in every quarter?
Yes. +160. I believe they will. I’d be shocked if they get totally shut down for a whole
quarter. Especially when the odds are +160, this is a good bet.
#6. Total Receptions – Julian Edelman (NE) –
Over 1/2. Shout out to my boy Cdrizz who knows Edelman from back in the day. They have to give him one catch so they can show a cool montage on how he plays both ways. Plus with Gronk hobbled, it just makes sense.
#7. First TD in the game
Got to look for good odds here, so I’ll take Aaron Hernandez at 9/2 for the Pats, and
Mario Manningham at 7/1 for the Giants, with the potential matchup against Edelman he could score easily (sorry CDrizz).
#8. Eli Manning TD passes
2td’s (+225) or 3td’s (+350) – I figure one of those has to hit. You know he’s going to hit these receivers, and a 4TD superbowl seems unlikely, but 2 or 3 seems almost guaranteed.
#9. Who will Barack Obama pick to win the game?
Obama’s picking the Pats -120 – He always goes with the favorites unless a Chicago team is involved.
#10. Length of Kelly Clarkson’s national anthem
Under 1:34. In her most recently televised national anthems, she has hit the anthem at 1:32 and 1:29. And I’m guessing Kelly doesn’t eff around and go long on this one!
